How It Started
From the Field to the Yard
Semper Steel Containers was born out of a simple frustration. Finding a clean, reliable shipping container shouldn't be hard, yet after years of dealing with rusty, smelly, or misrepresented units from other sellers, our founder Mathew Nans decided to build the kind of container company he wished had existed. One that treats every customer like a neighbor, the way folks ought to be treated down here.
With a background in logistics and a soldiers's instinct for order and precision, Mathew built Semper Steel from the ground up right here in the Lowcountry. What started as a handful of units and a pickup truck has grown into a full-scale operation with a stocked yard, dependable delivery from the marshes of coastal Georgia up through the South Carolina Lowcountry, and a reputation for straight talk and solid steel.
Today, Semper Steel serves contractors, farmers, retailers, municipalities, and homeowners from Savannah to Beaufort to Charleston and every small town in between. They all want the same thing: a container that shows up clean, matches exactly what was advertised, and stands up to whatever the coastal weather, salt air, and long Southern summers can throw at it.

Our mission is straightforward: deliver the best prepared containers at fair prices, backed by honest service. No scams, no scum-bag sales tactics, no hiding damage, and no promises we can't keep.
Every container in our yard gets a thorough inspection and cleaning before it's listed. We document the condition, photograph the units, and give you a straight answer about what you're buying. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't go to a customer.
